Mérida Venezuela, 2007

High up in an Andean valley, surrounded by even higher peaks, Mérdia is different from most of the rest of the country.

A university town with lots of students, with a cool, stable climate it has become quite an internal travel destination for the locals.

It also boasts the longest cable car in the world, to the top of Pico Bolivar, the highest peak in Venezuela.
